I’m very disheartened to see the leaked footage that has emerged online regarding lecturers’ comments about students.
As President of GMIT Students’ Union I welcome Dr. Flynn’s apology to students on behalf of the institute and the apologies of the staff members in question. Our sole concern, as an organisation, will always be the welfare and wellbeing of our students.
We as an organisation take lead from the students involved and offer our support however we can. Whether the students decide to accept the apologies of the staff or go down the route of lodging a formal complaint against the staff members in question, they have our full support.
